It is difficult to capture feelings and put them into words, but the challenge is well worth the effort. To recapture that moment and that feeling is to allow ourselves to relive it again and make sense of it later on. Past experiences make us who we are today, regardless of how favorably we look upon them or whether we can remember them or not. Each experience has a unique impression on us and leaves its mark on us. They build and grow on each other like layers of an onion. There's also a lesson to be learned from each of those experiences, which is why we should not forget them quickly. I think of all God's creatures we humans are the most forgetful, so it's kind of a blessing that we can read and write in order to record our observations so that we can remember them, and remember our errors so that we can hopefully learn from them.
That is why I write.
